The films I make are for couples who care about how their wedding felt, not just how it looked.
Of course, the visuals matter. I love clean compositions, beautiful details, soft evening light, and those big sunset portrait moments when the day slows down for a few minutes. But the heart of the film is always the people.
The laughter during the speeches. The nervous excitement in the morning. The way your guests react when they see you. The small moments that might not have felt important at the time, but become the moments you are most grateful to have.
That is what I’m looking for throughout the day.

I’m not there to take over your wedding or turn it into a production.
Most of the time, I work quietly in the background, letting the day unfold naturally while I look for the moments that give the film its feeling. The real smiles. The reactions. The movement of the day. The things happening between the “official” moments.
When a little direction helps, especially during portraits, I’ll guide you gently so it still feels relaxed and like yourselves. Nothing awkward, nothing forced, and no pressure to perform for the camera.

I’m Simon, a wedding videographer based in South Wales, filming weddings across Swansea, Cardiff, and the wider South Wales area.
My approach is calm, candid, and unobtrusive. I’m there to capture the atmosphere of your day as it naturally happens: the smiles, the laughter, the little looks across the room, the guests enjoying themselves when they don’t realise they’re being filmed, and the details you spent so much time choosing.
The finished film should feel polished and cinematic, but never forced. Beautiful light, clean frames, emotional moments, real sound, and a story that feels like the two of you.

I’ve been filming weddings full-time since 2014 and have captured more than 600 weddings across South Wales and beyond.
Before working under Simon Hughes Films, I was also part of another multi-award-winning wedding videography team, which gave me years of experience in how to approach a wedding day professionally, calmly, and creatively.
By this point, I know how to work around real wedding timelines, changing weather, busy rooms, emotional moments, and everything else a wedding day can bring. My job is to make the filming feel easy for you, while still giving you a film that feels carefully made.

Coverage
I typically start with morning preparations 1.5-2 hours prior to the ceremony, and coverage usually ends around 45 minutes after your first dance (or when I feel I’ve captured everything I need for your wedding film).
If you’d like me to stay later, please ask about extra coverage.

Secure the Date / Booking Fee
A £500 booking fee is required to secure the date, and your remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding.

Where are you based and do you travel for weddings?
I’m based in Carmarthenshire, South West Wales, but have covered weddings across the UK and abroad.
If your wedding is taking place outside of my local radius, travel and accommodation expenses may apply.

Delivery
Packages are delivered digitally online within 16-20 weeks of your wedding.

Are you insured?
I hold all the necessary insurance as a full-time wedding creative, and I’m more than happy to supply certificates to your venue on request.
